MONTREAL – Several shots were fired in the night from Thursday to Friday, inside a restaurant-bar located on Jarry street, near the boulevard Saint-Michel in the borough of Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension, Montreal.
According to preliminary information, an individual would be entered inside the restaurant, around 2 a.m., and would have “fired several shots randomly,” said Benedict Boiselle, spokesman for the police Department of the City of Montreal.
The suspect then allegedly left the scene on foot in a southerly direction.
A woman aged 25 years has been wounded by a bullet to the arm. She was transported to the hospital, her life would not be in danger.
A wide security perimeter has been erected.
Investigators and forensic identification officers will be on-site to understand the circumstances of the event. No arrest has yet been made.
Surveillance cameras inside and outside will be reviewed.
Jarry street was closed between 10th avenue and the boulevard Saint-Michel.
