SAINT-BARNABÉ – Two people have sustained serious injuries in a snowmobile accident that apparently occurred on Thursday evening in Saint-Barnabé, not far from Trois-Rivières, in the Mauricie region.
In all likelihood, the driver would have continued straight to the end of a trail where there is a T-intersection, near the path of the Great River. He would have finished his race against a tree.
These are people who have overview of the tracks in the snow and the snowmobile heavily damaged Friday morning. As they approached, they saw two people, inanimate.
According to this it has been possible to learn, the two victims were covered with a thin layer of snow, which suggests that the accident may have occurred in the evening on Thursday.
Around 9: 30 a.m., the two snowmobilers were transported to the hospital. According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), they are serious injuries which leave fearing for their lives.
A reconstructionist SQ must visit the site to establish the circumstances and the time of the accident.
