Claude-Éric Gagné, the deputy director of operations at office of the prime minister Trudeau, he left his post in the wake of an external investigation about the allegations of inappropriate behaviour.

Mr. Gagné was one of Quebec’s most influential in the entourage of Justin Trudeau. Since the liberal victory in 2015, he acted as director of operations. He was on leave, forced from the opening of an independent investigation at the beginning of the month of November.

In December, TVA News had learned that he was the subject of a formal complaint filed at the office of the prime minister and allegations of inappropriate behaviour with women had been brought to the attention of the office of the prime minister.

Contacted by QMI Agency Friday evening, Mr. Gagné noted that he had cooperated fully in the consideration of the complaint made against him. “I deny firmly the allegations brought to my attention,” he added, before explaining his decision to resign.

“A few days ago, having been without news of the person officially in charge of the audit since several weeks ,and no new fact brought to my attention, I made the decision to submit my resignation,” he said in a message exchange.

“The approach has proved to be very challenging on a personal level. In order to preserve my health and avoid becoming a distraction to a team to which I am very attached to them and that I respect, I have decided to resign.”

The office of the prime minister, on Friday evening, it was confirmed that the independent investigation into Mr. Won was over “and that he no longer works at the Office of the prime minister”.

Claude-Éric Gagné has twenty years of experience in active politics. He has worked at the Quebec liberal Party, with ministers Claude Béchard, now deceased, Line Beauchamp, currently serves as general delegate of Quebec in Paris, and Yolande James.

When the federal liberals have delighted the county of Lac-Saint-Jean to the conservatives at the election in October last, the victory has been attributed in large part to the work of Mr. Won.
