The Société de transport de Montréal will host two trains AZUR free of charge to compensate for the delays of delivery.
The transport company will have a fleet of 54 trains rather than 52 under an agreement with the Bombardier-Alstom consortium.
Instead of paying a penalty for delivering late the trains at the end of 2018, the consortium will provide two more vehicles.
The announcement was made in the context of a presentation of the capital program of the STM to the finance Committee, held Monday at the city hall of Montreal.
A train’AZUR is worth on average $ 21 million. To date, 29 trains’AZUR travel on the orange line and two on the green line.
