The many falls of snow that have marked the winter in quebec is far from complete.

While several inches of snow have already fallen on southern Quebec in the last few days, a new broadside is expected for the regions of south, central and east of the province.

A large low pressure system along the east coast of the United States and is expected to hit several sectors, reports Environment Canada. The eastern Townships and Montérégie are the regions that are likely to be most affected by these new precipitation.

The snow should begin to fall to Montreal in the early morning, around 9 a.m. or 10 a.m., Wednesday.

The system will then move to Quebec city in mid-day, around noon.

The snow is then expected in the Bas-Saint-Laurent in the afternoon, and in the Gaspé peninsula in the evening.

The southern areas will be most strongly affected by the weather.

Inches by regions

Nearly 5 to 10 cm of snow are expected in the Outaouais, the Laurentians wildlife Reserve and the Haute-Mauricie.

For the valley of the St. Lawrence, Montreal and Quebec, 10 cm of snow are expected to fall to the ground.

The eastern Townships and the Montérégie region are expected to be most affected by this system, with 10 cm to 20 cm expected. In mountainous regions, as they could fall more than 20 cm.

For the Bas-Saint-Laurent, 5 cm should cover the ground in Rimouski, and near 10 cm for Rivière-du-Loup.

In the Gaspé peninsula, 10 cm to 20 cm are expected for the Bay-des-Chaleurs, and 10 cm for Gaspé.
