THREE-RIVERS | It’s a drug overdose which caused the death of a young woman, 21 years old, a year ago, at the Home of Carignan, a rehabilitation centre in Trois-Rivières.

This is the conclusion, which comes to the coroner Pascal Pelletier.

In all likelihood, Lyndia Hamel would have benefited from an output of two days to bring the cocaine to the center. The day after her return, she had admitted to having consumed and had handed over a syringe to stakeholders. The next morning, it is the cochambreuse of the young woman who was discovered inert in his bed. There was a packet of powder and a syringe next to it.

The coroner dismisses all criminal element the same as the thesis of the suicide. He adds: “it does not appear that this level of surveillance has been lower than expected in this type of resource that is not a prison”.

After this incident, the leadership of the House of Carignan has re-evaluated its protocol and verified that it was being done elsewhere. They came to the conclusion that their system could not be improved.
