In the United States of America scientists were amazed by the discovery that they found in the eye of the 26-year-old Abby Beckley. Examining the patient’s eyes, the experts found a type of worms that were previously found only in animals.

The award-winning publication Live Science published an article which described a very unusual case of detection of helminth species of Thelazia gulosa, who founded a colony in a woman’s eye. American had sought medical help after the whole week she was tormented by severe headaches and constant irritation in the eye. Also earlier the woman in his eye found a worm, whose length was 1.3 cm. Note that all 14 of helminths that medical professionals took from her eyes for 20 days, lived in conjuctive, transparent thin fabric, enveloping the eyes.

The doctors noticed that without the need of medical procedures activities of worms could completely deprive Buckley of view. Scientists said that this is the first case of detection of Thelazia gulosa in the human body.
