Passengers of a United airlines plane had ended their flight in terror, Tuesday.
While the aircraft was over the Pacific ocean, traversing the journey from San Francisco to Honolulu, one of the engines has lost its lid.
Without waiting, the pilot has declared an emergency situation due to vibrations disturbing the engine.
It even made it to destination without problem even if it was to be expected in Hawaii by the emergency services, who ultimately did not have to intervene.
The passengers were able to disembark and no-one was injured.
The federal Agency of aviation has dispatched investigators to understand what happened.
The Boeing 777 has two engines and can fly for several hours with only one of the two in function.
“There was turbulence just before, and about 15-20 minutes later, the aircraft was shaken, and then it started to vibrate, coming out abruptly from the sleep of the people who were sleeping. The passengers were crying, we were really nervous,” said a passenger to CNN.
