A storm could leave up to 20 to 30 cm of snow on Christmas day in certain parts of Quebec.
The eastern Townships and Beauce will be the most affected with falls of 20 to 30 cm are expected in the night from Sunday to Monday.
In the Gaspé peninsula, is expected to be between 15 and 20 cm during the day of Monday, says Environment Canada.
Elsewhere in Quebec, expected precipitation less important : 5 to 10 cm in Montreal and Quebec city. A warning for blowing snow has been issued for Québec.
In the Saguenay, Abitibi and the snow will be more discrete, with an accumulation expected 2 to 4 cm.
These rains are fueled by a depression that has formed in the United States, near cape Hatteras. The depression will continue its race to New Brunswick, where it provides up to 25 cm in some places at the end of the day Monday.
Later in the week, the cold will succeed to the precipitation, since it is expected of the polar temperatures in Quebec : from minus 20 degrees to minus 26, Thursday and Friday, according to the regions.
