    LONGUEUIL | A citizen was bitten by a police dog in Longueuil Friday evening during an operation to trace a suspect.

    The incident occurred at about 21: 45 on the street Rigaud when the citizen is found between the police dog and the suspect being sought, ” explained Mélanie Mercille, a spokesperson for the police Service of the urban agglomeration of Longueuil.

    The citizen was “a gesture” that the dog interpreted this as a threat and bit the man, 62-year-old in one arm and a thigh. The latter has received the appropriate care, assured Ms. Mercille.

    As for the suspect, a man of 27 years known to police, he was arrested on the rue de Lyon, close to the rue Rigaud.

    He faces charges of obstruction, escape lawful custody and breach of undertaking. He was released on a promise to appear.
