CHILLIWACK, b.c.- A man has died after being hit by a weapon with electrical impulse while he was likely to remove his own child in Chilliwack, a hundred kilometres east of Vancouver, Saturday.
In a press release, the royal Canadian mounted police (RCMP) said they were called to respond to a child abduction in Chilliwack, in the middle of the afternoon. The suspect was then away on foot in the company of the child.
The police quickly found the father and his child. According to them, the man would have resisted his arrest, which would have required that one of the officers to resort to his electric weapon to master.
The suspect suffered a medical distress following his arrest. He was taken to the hospital, where he died shortly after his arrival, reported the RCMP.
The child, who was not injured, was returned to his mother.
The investigation into this event has been assigned to the Office of the independent surveys of the British Columbia, since police officers are involved.
