    SAINTE-ANGÈLE-DE-MONNOIR | A fire in a house in Sainte-Angèle-de-Monnoir, in Montérégie, has led the authorities to a marijuana plantation on Monday.

    According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), firefighters were first called to fight a fire which occurred in the environs of 17 h on the rank of the Coast-Double. After to be succeeded in mastering the flames, the fire have discovered the plantation in the basement of the residence.

    For this reason, the scene of the fire has been transferred to the police. Police officers will ensure protection during the night and investigators will get to work Tuesday morning, said sergeant Claude Denis, spokesman for the SQ.

    The police force was not able to move forward on the importance of the plantation in the evening on Monday.

    The home has been damaged by the flames, but would not be considered a total loss. No one was injured during the disaster, and no suspect has been arrested, said the SQ.

    The cause of the fire remained to be determined.
