BÉARN | A forest worker was killed on Monday, during a work-related accident that occurred in Béarn, in Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Guy Allard, a man of 59 years of age, was diagnosed with a tree on the head around noon.
The circumstances surrounding the workplace accident are still to be determined, but no criminal element has been identified in this drama, said Louis-Philippe Bibeau, a spokesperson for the SQ.
Investigators of the Committee on standards, equity, health and safety in the workplace (CNESST) will have the task of determining why the accident occurred.
