The minister of Employment has shown the door to a high-ranking official under his responsibility who had pleaded guilty to charges in connection with sexual misconduct in front of his or her professional order at the beginning of the month of January.
Florent Francoeur, the former director general of the College of human resources advisors who had maintained links secret with several of its employees, has been relieved of his duties Tuesday by the council of ministers.
He was the president of the Commission of labour market partners for 2015 and reported to the minister François Blais.
“We bought the end of the contract of Mr. Francoeur,” says Stephane Gosselin, head of cabinet of the ministry. It was the best option and the most simple. “
Mr. Francoeur is still expected to collect nearly $ 170,000 since his contract would run until next December.
This decision follows the publication of a Journal article on January 9 about the guilty plea of the former CEO.
“It has been requested by the executive, and the members of the commission to look at this situation that made them all uncomfortable,” added Mr. Gosselin.
Over a period of 20 years, Florent Francœur has had romances with five of its employees, sometimes at the same time, without knowing, and without informing his board of directors.
Before the discipline committee, he recognized that he will be placed in a situation of conflict of interest in his sexual misconduct.
There is a risk the radiation to life of the professional order he was heading as well as a fine of $10 500.
According to Mr Gosselin at the time of his permanent appointment in 2015 for the commission, nothing in the record no indication that an investigation was underway.
“The charges have been filed against him long after his hiring,” he said.
The body will be headed by two co-chairs of the interim from the commission until the hiring of a permanent resource.
