A resident of the borough of Rivière-des-Prairies in Montreal, who was seriously injured after falling on the icy sidewalk outside her home, last Thursday, intends to pursue the City of Montreal.
Nadya Mirarchi went to a medical appointment, around 8: 30 in the morning. She fell on the ice. She stood up, but found that something was not right. She screamed, and a neighbor brought him relief.
The video of his fall was filmed by the surveillance camera of a neighbor.
Nadya Mirarchi has already been carried out for the first time, but nothing is set for his ankle, badly broken. Due to inflammation and the formation of blisters, the ankle of the woman must be stabilized before they can actually be repaired.
Three days after he fell, the sidewalk and the road were still frozen.
“I arrived on Thursday at the hospital, Friday I returned to the house, on Sunday, they recalled the ambulance once because I started to bleed. When the paramedics arrived, they put their salt on the sidewalk and on the street, because they could not get me,” said the lady, in the interview with Mario Dumont.
A winter from hell
The couple emphasizes that the displacements remain very tough in their neighbourhood.
“Last year, it was not so bad, but this year, there is snow, they come after a week. There is ice everywhere. Of times called, and then they don’t come pantoute,” says Mr. Fratta.
“It increases our taxes, and there was no service. The City does not even when it snows, the sidewalks, the streets are not cleared of snow”. “We should walk on the street with the children to get to school, we try to do our best”, explained his side of the spouse of the victim, Giuliano Fratta.
The couple began to initiate legal efforts to sue the metropolis in civil matters.
“The formal complaint of injury has already been made, one now awaits the call of the lawyer,” says Nadya Mirarchi.
