Cure some migraines, thanks to the surgery, it seems possible, and the results would be good. A study published in the Journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons shows that, after a year, patients are less likely to have migraines, they are less strong and more importantly, the daily tasks that were difficult for them to become more simple.

Surgery on trigger points

The treatment of migraine by surgery is done when other medical treatment does not work, and only in some diseases. It comes to patients with chronic migraines and severe, where an area trigger is identified. The operation aims to dénerver these trigger points that are related to the sore skull. It is by carrying out plastic surgeries in the area that the surgeons were unaware of the effectiveness of this type of surgery on some migraines.

Improvements one year after the operation

90 patients participated in the study, all of them have had a surgery with plastic against the migraine. Before and after this operation, they responded to a questionnaire about their headaches, the MHI, for inventory headaches of the migraine, as well as to the PSEQ, a self-assessment questionnaire of the pain.
Before the operation, patients had low scores on the PSEQ, which translates to a strong disability. A year after the operation, their score improved by an average of 112%. The questionnaire that is specific to migraines shows him an improved score of 76% after the operation, which means that the migraine headaches are less frequent, less long and less violent.

These operations represent a hope for migraine sufferers, because 10% to 15% of them do not respond to treatment, and 5% have contraindications.
