It is in this house (photo) of the street of the Trail in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, in Montérégie, that the 65 year-old female was found deceased Tuesday evening. The police received an emergency call to an altercation between a man and a woman. The intervention has turned a drama when the first patrollers arrived on the scene.

It is in its new home that Johanne Chayer, 65 years, was found deceased Tuesday evening.

Greeted by fire

“The police were greeted by gunfire. An exchange of fire would have followed, and one of the police officers has been reached, ” said sergeant Daniel Thibaudeau, of the Sûreté du Québec.
