A spectacular fire swept through a trailer for camping, Saturday, on route 175 in the Laurentides wildlife Reserve. Fortunately, the occupants of the vehicle were unharmed.

The police officers of the Sûreté du Québec received a call to 16.40 for a trailer on fire at km 159, in the heart of the wildlife reserve, near lake Jacques-Cartier.

In the first few minutes, the drivers circulating in the sector have been witness to an impressive blaze. Flames of living fire ravaged the vehicle, and a thick smoke escaped.

The fire department of Quebec intervened, and the Society for the protection of forests against fire (SOPFEU), as it was feared a spread of the flames to the nearby forest. This was not the case, says the spokesperson Annie Thibodeau.

The right lane had to be cut off to motorists heading south during a time of fear that propane tanks exploding inside the trailer.

It was eventually towed to 19h.
