A Valcartier military accused of sexual assault

OTTAWA – A member attached to the base of Valcartier, in the Quebec city region, is charged with sexual assault against another member of the canadian armed Forces.
The actions alleged to have occurred on the military base Waimwright, in the south-east of Edmonton, Alberta.
The corporal Régis Tremblay, who is a member of the Unit, the joint personnel support at Valcartier, will have to answer to one count of sexual assault before a court martial. The date of the appearance to come was not specified.
“The national investigation Service canadian Forces investigates all allegations of sexual assault comprehensively and impartially to contribute to the maintenance of a professional environment that is respectful and healthy for all members of the military. The [filing of] this charge reflects the effectiveness of our approach and our ongoing commitment to support victims and help prevent sexual conduct harmful and inappropriate in the canadian armed Forces”, said on Friday the lieutenant-colonel Francis Bolduc, commander of the national investigation Service, by issuing a press release.
