The authorities are trying to find an individual who has knocked down two pedestrians at the edge of a pickup truck stolen on Saturday night in a small village in the Nord-du-Québec. The sad scene was filmed by residents of Umiujaq, a small town located on the shores of Hudson bay, and then broadcast on social networks. On the video, you can see the driver speed up a few meters before reaching the height of the two women. The victims attempt to avoid the pickup truck. In vain. “They have been transferred to a hospital centre in the Montreal area and suffer serious injuries, but we aren’t afraid for their lives,” said Ingrid Asselin, a spokesperson for the SQ. The suspect fled after the collision and has not yet been located by officers.
