THREE-RIVERS | A woman who was raped, beaten and assaulted by her ex-spouse wants to be certain that it will never be on its way.
One of the victims of William Labranche, 24 years old, was sent quivering and eyes in the water to justice Jacques Trudel during submissions on the sentence to be imposed on her ex-boyfriend.
“I don’t want to hear about it. I no longer see it. I want this to be controlled “, she said, stressing that she wanted the court ordered him to stay away.
Labranche has been found guilty of 36 counts of the indictment in August, including sexual assault with a weapon, sexual assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon and threats, dangerous driving and drug trafficking.
The Crown and the defence were finally presented to the judge a suggestion common to 59 months in prison, plus a three-year probation. The judge noted that the suggestion seemed good, but still took the folder under advisement. It will make its final decision on October 31.
Two years of attacks
For two years, the victim, of which one must conceal the identity because of a publication ban, was beaten, raped, sexual assault causing bodily harm and sexual assault in the armed forces. She was strangled during sex and had the body covered in bruises.
She decided that she needed to file a complaint when William Labranche has made the headlines in April 2015 to have attempted to abduct a woman at a Tim Hortons in Trois-Rivières, where she had been seeking relief.
“The images of surveillance cameras gave out cold in the back and had done the tour of Quebec. They saw the accused enter the second victim as an object and try to force their way into his car.
The two women attended the aggressor, one after the other.
