The accident of carousel that has left one dead and seven injured in Ohio, on Wednesday, has not only shocked the public, but also the entire industry dedicated to fun, believes the co-owner of Beauce Carnaval.

For Jacques Vallée, who is the head of the company’s beauce region over the past twenty years, the images of the accident are unbearable to watch. “This is a terrible accident for the families, friends and companies to which it happens. We are here to amuse the people, not for that things like this happen”, he commented in a telephone interview on Thursday.
In a video shot by a witness in a fair, Columbus, Ohio, and which is circulating widely on the web, you can see the platform of a carousel to detach from the structure and be projected into the air with its passengers. Some landed violently on the ground.
An 18 year old man has left his life, while seven other people were injured, two of whom are still in critical condition. A survey has been put in place to explain the failure of the attraction named “Fire Ball” (“Ball of fire”).
“Amazing”
Mr. Valley just to explain how such a tragedy could occur, considering that safety is a priority for all those working in this industry. It has also good words for the company that supplied the rides at the fair in Ohio, Amusements of America.
“It cannot be that someone operates rides and that he does not take care that the people feel safe, and if there is, I don’t understand”, he estimated.
Saying it was confident in its security protocols, the business man says its rides are safe. At Val-D’or, where several of them are currently deployed, it ensures not to take note of the wind of panic among the customers.
“I want people who come to us have fun safely, and above all, I want my nine grandchildren to be able to get on the rides and they feel good,” expressed James Valley.
Recall that the Beauce Carnival plans to bring back about thirty rides on the site of ExpoCité, in mid-August, for five days of festivities.
