An accident involving two semi-trailers has forced Tuesday afternoon to the closure of highway 40 eastbound, in the west of the island of Montreal.

The truck collided with a low wall of cement to 12: 45 p.m., according to the spokesperson of the ministry of Transport of Quebec (MTQ), Denis Arsenault.

In a Twitter message, the MTQ has specified that the bridge of the Ile-aux-Tourtes between Vaudreuil-Dorion and Montreal is closed for an indefinite period.

The department of Transport called in the afternoon to motorists to use the highway 20 and the bridge Taschereau to connect the South Shore and the city.
