An Air Canada flight en route to Washington made an emergency landing on Sunday evening, because of the presence of smoke in the cockpit.
The plane took off from Toronto to 17 h, to get to the airport Ronald Reagan in Washington.
After an hour of flight, the crew announced to passengers that the plane had to land urgently, was told by one of the passengers in the “Toronto Star”.
Fifteen minutes later, the 63 passengers were evacuated with the help of a slide evacuation on the tarmac of Dulles airport before being taken to the main terminal.
The plane landed safely and nobody was injured, said a spokesman for Sky Regional, which operates Air Canada.
Andrew Trull, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, told the “Washington Post” that no fire had been found inside the device. The smoke could have been caused by a short circuit in the cockpit.
