MANSONVILLE | Lise Maheu, a great ambassador for the cause of organ donation, died in the course of the last week end in Mansonville, in the township of Potton in the eastern Townships.
Born with a heart defect, she was waiting for a transplant of the heart and lungs since July 2002. She finally died at the age of 48, after having campaigned extensively in favour of organ donation.
“You know that she has not lived for nothing, it will leave a trace,” said the mother of Lise, Sonia Maheu, in an interview with TVA News.
Already, at the age of two years, the doctors did that a few years to live at Lise Maheu. The latter, however, will be able to thwart the predictions for several decades. “It is necessary that I have to pinch myself to believe it. It seems to me that it will come back, I don’t believe it,” said Sonia Maheu, stating that her daughter died without warning.
The one who was president of the society Poses a gesture, and who has already received the Ambassador award from Transplant Québec has had the opportunity to put forward his philosophy on the occasion of his death. “We knew that the doctors have taken his corneas, tendons and bones of her legs. It is a balm to know that she lives through others,” pointed out Sonia Maheu.
