To allow young children stricken by illness to fulfill a wish that is so precious, the children’s wish Foundation held for the second year an auction of Christmas on its website.

Among the 45 bets offered are a match for the Canadian company of the NHL referee Justin St-Pierre, a ride in a Lamborghini with the businessman François Lambert not to mention a meeting with Alex Nevsky, after a show Voice junior, or live a VIP experience on the set of the show everyone is talking about.

“By participating, people can allow their loved one to realize a little dream by meeting a celebrity he likes, but at the same time, they make a difference in the lives of sick children “, stresses Juli Meilleur, director general of the quebec branch of the Foundation.

These lots are offered with initial bets ranging from $ 25 to $600.

The money raised will be used to fulfil the dreams of seriously ill children.

“These are all unique experiences that you cannot buy elsewhere,” says Ms. Best.

    The sword of Damocles

Since its creation in 1984, the children’s wish Foundation has made the dreams of nearly 25,000 children across Canada, of which 8000 only in Quebec.

Among them is Charles-Antoine Labrosse, who has spent a week at Walt Disney World with his family last year.

The age of 8, the boy from Sainte-Sophie suffers from hypoplastic right heart, which means that only half of his organ works. Since his birth, Charles-Antoine has undergone five heart surgeries.

“There is always a sword of Damocles hanging over our head,” said his father, Sébastien Labrosse. You never know if our boy is going to make it to his next birthday. “

    Memorable trip

In October 2016, Charles-Antoine has realized his dream to meet the characters of Walt Disney in Florida, and more particularly Pluto, the dog of Mickey Mouse.

“This week, let’s say that it has filled the gas tank of Charles-Antoine, shows Mr. Labrosse. He came back tired, but at the same time, with a new energy because it was full of beautiful memories. “

“It will remain engraved forever in the hearts of the whole family,” he concludes.
