MONTREAL – complaints against Sanimax multiply in the borough of Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles, in Montreal, while the citizens are no longer able to odour generated by the activities of the company, which recovers, in particular of animal carcasses.

The residents also complain about how Sanimax is transporting its cargoes while a spill of carcasses took place last may on the floor.

Even the borough of Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles, seems devoid of the means in the face of the company, who would do that to his head.

“We deplore the attitude of Sanimax in this folder. One application of the action. We demand that they do what they do and that they comply with the regulations. They refuse to do so. They prefer to inject millions on lawyers instead of settling it. At the end of the line that suffers? Our residents, and we can no longer support it”, said Friday in VAT New borough councillor in the district of The Pointe-aux-Prairies, Manuel Guedes.

“We are in the 21st century, it must adapt. They have the financial means, the technology exists. It is not difficult to make these changes, but they prefer to invest in lawyers ‘fees and do nothing”, he added.

According to the advisor, a fifty complaints have been received since the last month.

On its website, Sanimax said to make the recovery of oil cooking waste, meat by-products, and animals, dead animals at the farm, peels, and organic materials.
