TORONTO | Apparently encouraged by a first successful flight, a man without a fixed abode would have presented no less than eight banks of Toronto and Pickering in order to steal money.
Andrew Burke, age 53, has begun a series of flights alleged on Friday 21 July. Then, he resumed his ride on Monday, visiting one to two banks per day, until his arrest last Friday.
Each time, the man would have used the same ploy. He was a good paper to a clerk, on which was written that he was armed with a firearm and that he wanted to have the money, detailed the Toronto police.
Burke was formally charged last Saturday of eight counts of robbery, said police Tuesday.
