New research proves that wealth or poverty can be determined by facial features.

The Department of psychology at the University of Toronto conducted a study that will be of interest to anyone with face, reports Rus.Media.

Scientists — Professor Nicholas rule and the Torah Jonsdottir — caught in the corridors of the University, several students and threatened with expulsion, photographed them. Meanwhile, the scientists asked the students to make the most neutral person. Then they processed the pictures so that they do not have any items that indicate the social origin of the students: any caps from the newspaper, or diamond earrings.

Important point: students were elected professors from families of different income levels. That is, roughly speaking, half of the students from poor families, half of the rich.

Then they asked another group of people that have nothing to do with the pictures taken by the students to determine which of the pictured grew up in a poor family, and who — in rich.

And they’ve determined! And with a precision that, according to scientists, preclude a simple coincidence.

“That is, we can say that young people 18-22 years of age already have life experience that changed the form and features of their faces so that through them reveals their social status,” said Roel, his brow furrowing.

As a rule, he added, faces of young men and women from wealthy families are more relaxed and more friendly: they are clearly familiar with the smile firsthand.
