The minister Mélanie Joly welcomed the legacy programming of Canada 150 to citizens.

“For some, this will be a building, a memory, a new relationship or the discovery of a new perspective, but the legacy of Canada 150 will be, for me, the relationships that we have forged between us,” she said by way of press release.

“The investments made this year will strengthen our sense of belonging and awaken our conscience as a citizen. As we reflect on the legacy of Canada 150 and to our future, I would like to underline our continuing obligation to Aboriginal peoples: a commitment to do the right things, correctly. No relationship is more important.”
