    OTTAWA-Canada announced on Monday that the ambassador of venezuela was no longer the “welcome” and declared the charge d’affaires persona non grata”, in retaliation to the expulsion, two days ago, in charge of canadian business in Venezuela.

    The ambassador of venezuela had already been removed by Caracas to denounce the canadian sanctions against officials venezuelans involved in corruption and violations deemed egregious of human rights in this country plunged into a political and economic crisis.

    “I am pleased to announce that the ambassador of venezuela in Canada is not longer welcome in Canada. I also declare the charge d’affaires of venezuela persona non grata”, said in a press release, the canadian minister of foreign Affairs, asked by chrystia Freeland.

    The expulsion on the eve of the chargé d’affaires, canadian Craig Kowalik is “typical of the regime Maduro, who constantly undermine all efforts to restore democracy and to help the venezuelan people,” said Ms. Freeland.

    “Canadians will not remain idly by while the government of Venezuela remains his people of their democratic rights and fundamental human rights and denies access to humanitarian assistance essential.”

    The canadian government has raised the tone against the regime of president Nicolas Maduro to engage in dialogue with the opposition and took against him were a series of sanctions.

    On Friday, Ottawa has decided, among other things, to prohibit on its territory the 52 officials from Venezuela, Russia, and South Sudan, which he accuses of being corrupt or linked to violations of human rights.

    For his part, the president of the constituent Assembly, the venezuelan had criticised the chargé d’affaires, canadian “a permanent interference, insistent, rude and vulgar in the internal affairs of Venezuela”.
