On 22 floors of the Montparnasse tower in Paris, Noah shows his sulking. The little boy barely 5 years old when this picture was taken. It is preparing to celebrate the wedding anniversary of his parents with his family and friends. Two years later, doctors tell him diagnose a glioma infiltrating the brainstem. “A cancer at 7 years old, seriously ? “challenges this portrait of 1800 m2. Her illness will take 10 years.

Since then, his parents are fighting to ensure that this misfortune does not happen to others. Figure of the real estate, and president of the syndicate of co-owners of the tour Montparnasse, his father, Frédéric Lemos, multiplies the donations for the research. But this time, he wanted to hit harder.

Noah, face of sick children

With the Gustave-Roussy Institute, the largest center of fight against cancer in Europe, it has decided to launch a major fund-raising 10 million euros by 2020. The petit Noé is the emblem of this campaign entitled ” Heal the cancer of the child in the 21st century “.

A bet ambitious because, today, cancers are the leading cause of death by disease in children older than one year. In France each year, 2 500 new cases are diagnosed in patients under the age of 15 years, one child out of 440.

If the progress of recent decades allow 80 % of the young patients to heal, almost two-thirds of them will keep sequelae in adulthood. For the remaining 20%, the doctors are powerless, lack of treatment and research in the field of pediatric.
