After three days of benefits records last week, CAA-Quebec has continued to face increased demand of its members during the end of the week.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday last, CAA-Quebec has set a new record with 30 000 services rendered to its members in three days.
“Thank you to our members and hats off to our patrol. We do not let go!”, wrote the organization on its page Facebook late Friday afternoon.
While Environment Canada has maintained its warning of extreme cold to many, if not most of the regions of Quebec, CAA-Quebec continues to experience days out of the ordinary.
Saturday, for example, “6100 services have been rendered by our teams”, said Pierre-Olivier Fortin, a spokesperson for the CAA-Quebec to the QMI Agency, adding that the forecast for the Sunday was about 4500 services.
During a winter day normal, CAA-Quebec makes from 2500 to 3000 services to its members.
According to Mr. Fortin, the services rendered these days are of the overvoltages for the most part, either 75% or 80 %. In this regard, he mentioned that the boost is only a temporary solution since the need of such a service is perhaps a sign of the poor state of a battery.
“It is necessary to check the status of your battery before the winter and we also recommend to use synthetic oil for the engine, since it retains more of its properties by a time of great cold,” he explained.
The spokesperson indicated that CAA-Quebec will continue to work 100 % of its workforce, or more than 200 people taking calls and 1,100 vehicles on the road across Quebec, at least until the January 4, given that the meteorologists predict a slight increase in temperatures towards the middle of the week.
