MONTREAL | The cases of overdoses from opioids have surpassed the 60 in Montreal this fall, according to TVA News has learned.

According to the most recent distribution data of Emergency Health, 64 cases of overdose were reported between August 18 and October 16.

It is the Central-Southern sector, which has registered the highest number of overdoses (41) more than 64% of the cases in the metropolis.

A few weeks ago, J. E. devoted an issue to the ravages of fentanyl in Montreal, particularly in the district of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.

Many consumers of hard drugs and admitted their concern about the fentanyl consumed without their knowledge, especially in the heroine.

But overdoses do not intervene in this area only. Paramedics from Urgences-Santé are also very active in the Centre-North and in the east of the city.

These worrying statistics are compiled so that the Coalition Harm Reduction Montreal held a press conference on Tuesday morning followed by discussions in link with the increase of overdoses in Montreal.

This coalition brings together all actors in montreal’s front-line harm reduction related to drug use.

The members of the coalition will take stock of the situation and present solutions to implement now.
