MONTREAL | Montreal who had managed to survive the Holocaust died in the beginning of the year, announced the Holocaust Museum of Montreal.
Born of jewish parents in Paris in 1926, Jean Kutscher has escaped the nazis during the Second world War. He had moved to Montreal during the 60s, in the company of his wife.
“John was completely devoted to the transmission of the history of the Holocaust and his own history, and it has been appreciated just as much to children as to adults. He has inspired all who have had the chance to hear it, ” expressed the Museum on his page Facebook on Tuesday, without specifying the exact date or the cause of the death of Mr. Kutscher.
Jean Kutscher has narrowly escaped the Holocaust in France, with his little brother and his little sister. His father, his mother and older brother perished in the extermination camp of Auschwitz.
The man gave sometimes lectures at schools and telling his story in the media, to raise awareness.
“We will always remember his kindness, his dedication, his warmth and his exceptional ability to reach out to others,” said the Museum in his tribute on the social networks.
