Amid the scandal with the leak of data of 50 million users and their use by the company Cambridge Analytica Facebook announced about the simplification of the privacy settings, the news informs Rus.Media.

“We changed our settings menu on mobile devices from top to bottom to simplify the search. Instead set options on almost 20 different screens, they are now available in one place. We also cleaned the obsolete installation, so it is clear what information can and cannot be disseminated to applications”, – stated in the message.

Also, the social network has created a new menu for privacy settings where you can adjust the level of protection of the account to control your personal information, customize the appearance of ads and manage such things as: who sees your posts and the information you want to include in your profile.

“We are introducing a new feature, “Access to information”, with which you can track your own posts, comments, search history and erase what you don’t want to leave in the public domain”, – stated in the message.

Recall, Cambridge Analytica illegally used personal data of 50 million users of Facebook in order to influence the outcome of the US presidential election in 2016, as well as on the results of the referendum on the UK exit from the European Union.
