Fatal Accident on highway 401 at the border, Ontario-Quebec

    SOUTH GLENGARRY | A motorist was killed Monday afternoon in an accident involving two trucks and four cars on highway 401.

    According to the Ontario provincial Police (OPP), the accident occurred at 14: 29 on the highway in direction west, at the height of South Glengarry, near the border.

    A person has lost life in the accident, while five were taken to hospital for treatment of injuries that do not put their life in danger.

    On the side of Quebec city, highway 20 becomes the 401 in Ontario, was closed down at the height of the kilometer 2, in Rivière-Beaudette. Motorists were asked to use a detour via the local network. However, rail-road could not take the detour, said the Sûreté du Québec.

    A path in the direction is was also always closed in the evening.
