L’ISLET-SUR-MER – A man of forty years lost his life, in the night of Sunday to Monday, after having been hit by a car while he was travelling on foot on highway 20 West to L’islet-sur-Mer, in Chaudière-Appalaches.
According to initial information collected by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), a vehicle that was travelling at the height of the km 395 would be dropped down on the edge of the highway, around 2: 40.
The passenger would then decided to go home on foot and was struck by a car as he walked on the floor. The man, originally from Montmagny, has been transported to a hospital where his death was recorded.
As for the driver, he was not injured.
An investigator specializing in investigation of collision is made on the spot to try to learn about the causes of this tragedy.
“There are no criminal elements involved at first glance, but the investigation continues. He was possibly intoxicated by alcohol,” said Christine Coulombe, spokesperson for the SQ.
