MONTREAL – Five residents of the avenue Lacombe, near to the rue Lemieux, in the neighborhood of Côte-des-Neiges, Montreal, were forced to leave their home on Saturday evening and will have to find another place to sleep due to a fire.

The fire occurred in the basement of the single-family residence shortly before 21 h for a reason which had not been determined at the end of the evening.

Fifty firefighters fought the flames and no one was injured, said Yvon Daunais, chief for operations with the Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal.

The fire caused approximately $ 25,000 damage to the house.
