First murder of the year in Montreal

MONTREAL – A 61-year old woman has been stabbed to death, Sunday night, in the borough of LaSalle in Montreal. This is the first homicide to occur on the territory of the SPVM this year.

The assault occurred at around 23: 15, on the street Guy Bouchard, near the rue Louis-Hébert.

Arriving on the scene, the police have found a woman lying on the ground with a significant wound to the back, made with a sharp object.

“The victim would have mentioned it difficult to the police that it was his daughter who would have stabbed him,” explained Benoit Boisselle, a spokesman of the police Department of the City of Montreal.

It was then transported in critical condition to the hospital, where his death has been found.

The suspect, aged 34 years, was arrested by the police.

The reason for the assault is not yet known.

A stage was erected on the site by allowing investigators and forensic identification officers to analyze the scene and make the light on this event.
