QUEBEC | There are five dead on the snowmobile trails of Quebec during the last week.
Although the causes of death are not yet known, the speed remains for a lot of snowmobile clubs in Quebec the biggest problem on the trails.
The Club de motoneige Saint-Raymond has taken major steps to slow down those who have the foot too, weighing in ceasing the maintenance of some sections of trails in their area. It does ressurface more snow, which creates bumps, and requires snowmobilers to slow down.
Although it tries to enforce the speed limits, the club would also need the presence of patrolmen from the Sûreté du Québec. But they are not trails.
Two snowmobilers lost their lives in Portneuf in the last week. Another died at Beauport, and the other two in the Mauricie region.
