TORONTO – The company Sunwing has informed on Sunday evening that a few of these flights were disrupted as a result of hanging Friday in Toronto between his aircraft and another of WestJet who has returned from Cancun.

In a message on Twitter, the airline stated that: “80 % of our flights operate as planned, however, the balance has experienced delays due to the severe weather and ground operations, including the incident of Swissport to Toronto Pearson”.

Sunwing has invited travellers, including those who want to return to sun destinations, to check the status of their flight on the internet.

Sunday evening, five flights from Cancun, Punta Cana and Bonaire were late, according to the website of the Toronto airport.

Recall that, on Friday, a plane of Sunwing which was moved by a farm tractor collided, shortly after 18, with a device of WestJet, locked to a gate of terminal 3. The plane was waiting for instructions to proceed to the disembarkation of its passengers, to the Toronto Pearson international airport.

The WestJet flight had 168 passengers and six crew members on board, while Sunwing was empty, with the exception of an employee of a service company to the ground. The two planes involved are Boeing 737.

The Office of the transportation safety board of Canada has opened an investigation.
