Forest fires in California have caused the state a damage at a billion dollars. According to the Commissioner of the California Department of insurance Dave Jones, the amount of damage amounted to 1,045 billion.

 

A series of fires swept through the forests of the state in early October. From the territories that were exposed to fire was taken more than a hundred thousand people. The total area of fires exceeded the square one of the largest American cities – new York. It is reported that the fires raging still, but the struggle with the elements has been a turning point. Already some people have been able to return to their homes.

The insurance Department noted that the amount of loss will increase as still doing the statement about the loss. According to Jones, more than five thousand houses, the flames destroyed completely, and another four thousand buildings in need of major repairs. As a result of the fire killed 42 residents of the state.
