TORONTO – Toronto police have arrested four persons following clash between protesters and counter-protesters, on Saturday, in the square at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto.
Protesters of the extreme right gathered near the Toronto city hall to protest against the tax policy of the federal government,” said the chain CP24 Ronny Cameron, the organizer of the event.
On the spot, a group of counter-protesters were holding placards calling for tolerance and denouncing the racist nature of the event and the presence of white-supremacist.
While the spirits are roused, the two groups were separated by a large police cordon.
According to the chain CP24, at least one woman was reportedly injured during this event and a police officer was allegedly assaulted. Four people have been arrested. Two of them were accused of having disturbed the peace, another of assault on an officer and another of unauthorized possession of prohibited weapons.
