Four arrests in Rimouski: more than 2500 tablets of methamphetamine seized

    RIMOUSKI – Four people have been arrested in Rimouski, on Tuesday during a police operation that resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of drugs, including more than 2500 tablets of methamphetamine.

    The investigators of the major crime of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), as well as the police of the position of the RCM of Rimouski-Neigette have intercepted, on Tuesday afternoon, a vehicle on the rise of Industrial-and-Commercial edge which 1430 tablets of methamphetamine were seized.

    Two men, aged 64 and 35 years were arrested. “The 64-year-old was released by way of a summons”, said SQ. The other has been detained since his appearance on Wednesday before a judge at the palais de justice de Rimouski. They face various counts relating to trafficking and possession of narcotics.

    The result of these two arrests, the police raided a housing located in a building in the rue de l’évêché Ouest where, 1 170 methamphetamine tablets, approximately 30 grams of cannabis, approximately 1 g of cocaine, cash and several items for the resale of narcotics were discovered and seized.

    On-site, two people have been arrested, a 35 year old man and a 25-year old woman. The latter has been released by promise to appear in court, while the man has been detained since his appearance on Wednesday before a judge at the palais de justice de Rimouski.
