    Look at this article

Thus, Jean-Marc Fournier, has chosen not to stand at the next election campaign.

Mr. Fournier is one of the politicians most sympathetic that I’ve had the chance to meet. A chic type, incredibly intelligent with a political instinct rather out of the ordinary.

    A pure-blood

Bad language will say, perhaps, that its balance sheet is quite thin : no major reforms or projects that have changed the face of Quebec. No, it’s true. Jean-Marc Fournier was rather a pure-blood. He was a partisan until the end of the fingers and toes. Even if this style of politician is not the one who is the most popular, it is not unless it is absolutely necessary. A political party is the height of the diversity of those who constitute it.

During his first retirement from politics in 2008, mr. Fournier had agreed to play a very particular role in the election of the same year. He had accompanied premier Jean Charest in his tour bus during the entire campaign. He was there to give his opinion and make of the strategy, but above all to calm the outgoing prime minister. I have been a privileged witness of this quality that he had to lower the pressure and consolidate a climate that can sometimes be quite toxic within an environment of the election campaign. He also repeated the experience in 2012, then in 2014, Philippe Couillard, then became leader of the QLP.

    Not far away

The departure of Jean-Marc Fournier will be an opportunity for Philippe Couillard to rejuvenate his team and walking away a little more of the era Charest, he seeks both to dissociate. However, it loses a minister and a counselor very competent. You can bet that “Jean-Marc” will not be very far out of the caravan liberal next September…
