In 1997, France Gall made in the face of the unthinkable for a mother : she loses her daughter Pauline, ripped from life in the flower of age, 19 years. The young woman suffered from cystic fibrosis. A drama for the singer, which occurs a few years after the sudden death of her husband Michel Berger, of a heart attack. In a documentary which was dedicated in 2001, the star of the year yéyé agreed to deliver on this tragedy. “We do not return to live such a thing, provided it is, we do not return to live it, because this is precisely the thing that you want and cannot live.Everyone says that this is impossible, inhuman… And yet I live , and I couldn’t believe that this is possible.”

Because life is never the same for a parent who loses a child, France Gall, then takes a radical decision : it put an end to his career as a singer. The interpreter of The declaration will be then quite discrete, his last scene goes back to a concert of Johnny Hallyday 2000 Olympia. She then sang along with the idol of the young something of Tennessee, a title of Michel Berger. In 2015, it is back on the front of the stage with the musical Resists, mounted with its companion Bruck Dawit, that it promotes.
