Even if the temperature felt at the foot of the slopes of Stoneham was nearing -30 degrees Celsius on Saturday, many fans of the ski in the region of Quebec are made in the good mood.

According to these brave athletes faced by TVA Nouvelles, the conditions are ideal: due to the cold, the snow is hard, which allows for a glide very nice. And as the weather has cooled the enthusiasm of many customers, those who have ski-slopes, expect little and have the field open on the mountain.

This episode of bitter cold arrives however at a very bad time for the operators of ski resorts. The Holiday season is usually, for them, one of the most important times of the year.

“Actually, there may be a goodwill, lower than last year”, has raised the spokesperson resorts, Stoneham and Mont-Sainte-Anne, Geneviève Clavet. “However, the followers are still waiting for you. We are happy to see that the skiers brave the cold […] to take advantage of the excellent conditions,” she said.

Skiers and snowboarders met have confessed to fight the cold by wearing several layers of clothes, heated insoles and hand warmers.
