Gatineau: no charges against the truck driver who struck and fatally wounded a girl

    GATINEAU – No criminal charges will be laid against the truck driver who struck a six year old girl a week ago, in Gatineau, in the Outaouais region.

    The investigation conducted by the police of Gatineau was established that no criminal offence had been committed in the drama, which occurred during the afternoon of 12 February, at the corner of rue Migneault and Gouin.

    “The various expertises have been carried out on the premises, as well as on the vehicle involved in the collision. Everything indicates that it is an unfortunate accident,” said the police of Gatineau in a news release issued Monday.

    Therefore, the driver of the truck will not be subject to any criminal charge and will not receive a statement of offence.

    Following the impact, the girl had been rushed to the hospital in critical condition. She had succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
