The new mp caquiste Genevieve Guilbault was sworn in Monday at the red Room of the national Assembly. The 2 last October, it was succeeded by the liberal mp who resigned Sam Hamad, collecting not less than 51 % of the vote in the county of Louis-Hébert, which was considered until then, as a strong castle of a liberal.

“I am not minister of the 3rd link. The magnitude of my task, it is much broader than that,” defended the new minister for Transport, in an exclusive interview published in our edition of last Saturday.
“I expect […] on his part that she is able to commit a little bit more, responded Mrs. Guilbault, in the margin of his swearing-in ceremony in the national Assembly. If she can provide us with more specific information on a timetable, and then on the famous project office that has cost us almost 20 million up to now, this would be welcome.”
Critic family
The chief caquiste François Legault has entrusted to Ms. Guilbault the role of spokesperson in the family, a responsibility which had hitherto been the mp caquiste Mirabel, Sylvie D’amours.
In a press briefing, Ms. Guilbault is committed to make childcare for atypical hours one of his main workhorses.
“A lot of people have unusual hours, evenings, weekends, and even, to a certain period, the been. So, you want to try to get the government’s actions in this regard”, said Ms. Guilbault.
Without dropping the network of centres de la petite enfance (CPE), the new member caquiste believes that the business model of private day care centers non-subsidized deserves to be encouraged.
“What we believe is that we need to invest first in the children, in services for children and not in the concrete or in the infrastructure,” says Ms. Guilbault.
“It’s incredibly reductive to associate our network, from early childhood to the concrete”, was held to respond to the member pq’s Véronique Hivon, who is said to be “estomaquée” by the comments of the new elected caquiste.
According to the spokesman of the parti québecois concerning the family, “investing in children” happens “first and foremost by child care services and quality education” in CPE.
